Jim Page will open the night as Featured Artist, with his expert finger picking and lyrical genius.
FireWorks hosts this weekly showcase of local talent - acoustic, vocals, percussion, blues, freestyle, spoken word, humorists and More. The show starts with a non-competitive Open Mic warmup round, then performers have a chance to compete in the Talent Search for the cash! "Change is an inherent and inseparable part of movement; dance is an extending embrace of rhythm through the endlessly spiraling of change movements."
Samara found her passion in tribal dance through classes with the Gypsy Caravan (Portland, OR). In 2001 she began dancing and choreographing for Earthdance (Welches, OR). Samara has had the pleasure of being a teacher and performer in the Oregon bellydance community for over a decade. During this time she has been gifted with opportunities to dance, teach, and learn with a family of friends in Portland, Welches, Corvallis, Bend, and most recently Eugene and Albany. Current ventures include collaborations with the Bijou Project, as well as solo works.

Fusion Trio
Formerly Hines is an eclectic mix if
music flavors. Rock, jazz, country, folk, classical and big band.
This is a band with few illusions about how music must be torn
apart and rediscovered at every junction on a page of words and
notes. All, but a very few, of the songs and tunes heard by this
band are original. They tend to stretch the thoughts when laying
down a track or writing a word for the right phrasing to make
a song fly.

(Coin of the Realm Orchestra)
with International Fiddle Champion Zach Konowalchuk
(Coin of the Realm Orchestra) embodies the true spirit of traditional
Ukrainian folk music. The band joined together in 2005 on the
premise of keeping the music of the old culture alive. Zach Konowalchuk,
classically trained violinist and great grandson of the relatively
unknown violinist Vasyl Shalay, brings to life folk melodies
transcribed from old recordings. It is suspected that his style
is eerily reminiscent (although no one alive today can confirm
this) of great grandpa Shalay, who was often summoned to play
kolomyjkas at neighborhood zabavas. Zahraj, Shalay! they used
to yell (so Baba said).
Accompanied by orchestra archivist and principal
kobza-ist in training David Konowalchuk, as well as whatever
other various and sundry mendicant musicians happen to be readily
on hand, Coin of the Realm Orchestra indefatigably performs a
conglomeration of kozachoks, kolomyjkas, waltzes, polkas, and
the occasional oberek. They must be heard to be believed!
